That’s leading the way.
In every way.

That’s leading the way. In every way.

Crystal Dunn is redefining soccer as we know it. She’s come back from every obstacle stronger than ever. She’s rewriting history for all women on the field—all while being an incredible teammate, mother and athlete.

Her versatility on and off the field has not only shaped her career, but it’s changing the game for everyone.

Julianne Sitch made history when she became the first woman to coach an NCAA men’s soccer team to a national championship—in her first year. In this iteration, we celebrate Julianne paving the path for every girl who dreams of becoming a coach, and of doing something that’s never been done before.

That’s perfecting the perfect 10.

Trinity Thomas has more 10s than most elite gymnasts.
She’s overcome every single obstacle in her career only to come back and land at the very top - although she claims she’s still not at her peak.

We chose to share her story because despite having one of the most consuming tournament schedules, as a college gymnast, Trinity still finds time to inspire young girls around her and fight for equality in the sport she loves so much. That’s a W.

That’s becoming the best. Ever.

That’s becoming the best. Ever.

To write the story of Mikaela Shiffrin is to write history. At just 27 years old, she has broken more records than most athletes ever do.

This work celebrates not only her historical moment as the winningest female alpine skier ever but also shines a light on how she’s inspiring female athletes to go after their dreams, no matter the challenge.

That's shaping a better future. A future that’s ours.

There is no stronger or more inclusive community than the world of women’s sports. With that in mind, we created this spot to celebrate the current momentum and countless strides made both on and off the field, while also looking towards a brighter future for the next generation of women in sports.

That’s being the first.
But never the last.

That’s being the first. But never the last.

Too often in the world of women’s sports, progress is told one milestone or one barrier breaker at a time. But in reality, progress is happening every single day. And in no field is this more apparent than in the growth of female coaching. Our second piece of work for “That’s a W” celebrated the many incredible women of the coaching world who continue to lead and inspire so many others.

That’s never settling, never stopping & never slowing down.

To us, a W is so much more than a game or a race. It’s about fostering connection and community through the stories that inspire and speak to us. Our new work for espnW’s first ever brand campaign celebrates their unique perspective on the world of sport and the community and opportunities sports brings to women everywhere.
